What is L–Carnitine?
L-Carnitine is a molecule that breaks down stored fat into fatty acids and glycerol these can then be used as fuel throughout exercise and whilst resting.

If consumed correctly (keep reading!) it can improve performance during training (enhance endurance and bigger pumps) It is also used to aid weight and fat loss.
Where can you find L-Carnitine?
In meat and animal products (the redder the meat usually = more L-Carnitine) you can also find it in soybeans, avocado and some other plant products. As well as in supplement form.
How can I take L-Carnitine?
You should take L-Carnitine with carbs as insulin levels should be high for adequate amounts of L-Carnitine to be absorbed into the muscles.
Dosage
You can take as little as 1g of L-Carnitine, however for the greatest benefit 2-3g is recommend and to be taken with 30-40g carbs and 20-40g protein meal.
Timing
Post workout is one of the best times to take L-Carnitine. You can also take it throughout the day with recommend doses of carbs and protein. Alternatively, you can take it with other ‘fat burning’ supplements (such as caffeine and green tea) in Acetyl-L-Carnitine form (When takem in Acetyl-L-Carnitine form, it changes functionality and allows L-Carntine to pass through the blood brain barrier.)
Is L-Carnitine safe?
L-Carnitine is not a dangerous supplement. When taken correctly, it is actually one of the safest and effective supplements. Enhancing fat loss and boosting endurance (as mentioned above).
